Building Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Director of Facilities

JOB SUMMARY

The Word Church Building Maintenance Technician is a person who desires to serve the Lord in caring for the upkeep of God’s Church. This person faithfully assists with maintenance to all the Word Church Buildings & Grounds. This role encompasses landscaping, remodeling projects, and Church facility repairs, etc. The Building Maintenance Technician’s duties are broad, but include the items listed below.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Opening and closing of buildings
• Turn on and off lighting systems as needed
• Conduct routine inspections of bldgs., grounds, and equipment
• Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance on Bldg. Systems & vehicles
• Order maintenance supplies & inventory while controlling shrinkage
• Assist in remodeling projects
• Maintenance of grounds (snow removal, landscaping, etc.)
• Perform painting duties, assembly, supply fulfillment, inventory, etc.
• Conduct set ups and break down as needed
• Report all defects and damages and areas in need of improvement to supervisors
• Communication and supervision of various outside vendors
• General tasks consistent with the daily operation of the word church facility
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Other duties as assigned

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• 
  Dependable: Reports to work on time and as scheduled, and will work additional hours when needed, including nights and weekends.
• Capable: Able to perform tasks requiring lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, squatting, etc.
• Cautious: Complies with proper safety policies and procedures as required, such as when using machines, lifting objects, reporting incidents, etc.
• Professional: Provides excellent level of customer service to internal members and external visitors.
• Independent: Time management skills and able to evaluate own work for neatness, accuracy, and thoroughness.
• Mobile: Maintains a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record for cases when travel for business may be required.
• Personal: A vibrant and growing personal relationship with God, with commitment to Christian principles and teachings
